Why Is Water Important In Weight Loss?

Water intake is very underrated by the general public, and it really shouldn't be. Here is why:

  • Water carries nutrients to all cells in our body, as well as oxygen to our brain

  • Water allows the body to absorb and assimilate minerals, vitamins, amino acids, glucose and other substances

  • Water flushes out toxins and waste

  • Water helps to regulate body temperature

  • Water acts as a lubricant for joints and muscles

Water intake is one of the most important aspects of my tracking system. This is so my clients focus on it daily, to ensure they do not get dehydrated from the increased exercise in their daily lives.

The effect of water is massive in weight loss, imagine that you normally drink 3 glasses of orange juice a day, and instead replace it with water. You reduce the need for sugary drinks and save massive amounts of calories, to be spent on more nutritious meals that can help aid muscle growth.

And... dehydration is one thing we need to avoid especially when training, whether the goal is weight loss or muscle growth. Here are the reasons why we need to avoid this:

  1. Feeling dizzy and lightheaded - This can create a full day of you doing nothing and not burning the calories that you would normally burn throughout the day.

  2. Feeling tired - This can decrease your performance output in the gym. With training only taking up a small portion of the day, you want to make sure this time is as effective as possible, and not wasted by poor performance due to dehydration.

Let's try and make drinking more water a normal part of our lives

My app helps this - And if you don't I'll be on your case
